Preface
The content of this book is a summary
of the laws of political science that apply to all
areas of the world, which is an idea that I have been
thinking about and developing for about 30 years.
It all began when I was a first-year
university student and asked my political science
professor a question that had been on my mind: "Is
political science really useless in real politics,
as some say?" The honest professor replied that
it was. So, I decided to try and create a useful political
science theory for the real world. What harm could
it do? I set a realistic goal for myself: to create
a practical political science theory at least as useful
as economics. Although economics is also heavily criticized,
it is still much better than political science, isn't
it?
The first result was published three
years later in "A Sketch of Survival." Although
it is a book that I am now ashamed of, I still consider
it a cornerstone of the entire process. I continued
to read books, clip articles, and jot down ideas throughout
the 1990s, but by 2000, I had almost given up. It
wasn't until 2010, when I started studying mathematics
again to build a mathematical model for my theory,
that I retrieved my old manuscripts and began writing
again.
To create a practical and realistic
political science, I tried to avoid being confined
by existing theories and instead consulted history
books. I believed that a scientific political science
is one that is built using the same research methods
as other scientific fields, by observing phenomena
and inductively generalizing them, and constructing
deduced laws into a systematic structure. In order
to examine the recurring political reality, I had
to read historical books widely, especially those
about the East and West. This process took a lot of
time.
The most ambitious and challenging
part was creating mathematical models to explain political
phenomena, much like in economics. This book primarily
introduces three laws of political science and builds
mathematical models around them, but can these be
integrated into a single mathematical model? From
2012, I spent about three years constructing a detailed
mathematical political science based on the content
of this book to verify this, and then revised this
book with a rough draft of the mathematical political
science manuscript. In the full-scale mathematical
political science, many mathematical techniques will
be introduced, centered on the key concepts presented
in this book.
Ultimately, after approximately 31
years of attempting to construct a practically useful
political science theory, this manuscript was completed.
It was a difficult and challenging process, but also
an enjoyable and interesting one. Although this book
is thick and lengthy, I will have nothing more to
ask for if some readers find it interesting to read
even a small part of it.
Lastly, I would like to express my
gratitude to my family, including my parents, and
those around me who have patiently waited for me for
a long time.
